Researching How Complexity Becomes Intelligible, Governable, & Coordinated
Modern societies generate unprecedented levels of information, specialization, technological capability, and institutional complexity. Yet governments, organizations, research systems, educational institutions, innovation ecosystems, and technology platforms continue to face persistent challenges of coordination, implementation, governance, and collective action. The Institute of Productisation is an independent research and educational initiative dedicated to understanding how complexity becomes intelligible, governable, and coordinated. Through research, experimentation, dialogue, and institutional collaboration, we investigate the structures that enable intelligence to become coordinated reality.
THE PROBLEM
Why This Work Matters
Many contemporary failures are not failures of intelligence.
They are failures of intelligibility.
Organizations often possess expertise but struggle to coordinate it.
Research produces knowledge that fails to become implementation.
Technology amplifies information faster than institutions can govern it.
Communities accumulate capability without achieving meaningful collective action.
The challenge is no longer information scarcity.
The challenge is understanding how complexity becomes governable.
OUR RESEARCH PROGRAM
Mediated Coordination Science
The Institute's research is organized around an emerging interdisciplinary program known as Mediated Coordination Sciences.
This program investigates how pressure becomes intelligible, how intelligence becomes coordinated, and how institutions sustain continuity under conditions of complexity, amplification, and change.
